Stories in Transit
Our Initiative
Stories in Transit is an initiative that will provide a human face to the transit funding crisis that SEPTA is forced to grapple with annually. The Online Outreach Committee will be sharing the stories of young people from across Southeastern Pennsylvania that rely on transit not just to travel, but to survive and thrive. The YAC understands that the story of transit is a story of opportunity and access above all else. The following is just a taste of the impact SEPTA has had on thousands of young people in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Whether its using SEPTA to access internships, the airport, or the Art Museum, young people across our region recognize that SEPTA plays an integral role in how they move. However, often times the faces of these young people are lost in the discourse of transit. Their stories can not be discounted. When we forget who transit serves, we are doomed to forget why we continue to fight for it.
